When
I was at Toy Fair last year I met Betsy Feldman and Jane Abraham's from the
Madame Alexander Doll Company. During my visit with them they
suggested I come to the factory, located in New York for a tour.
Well a couple of months ago my daughter and I decided to visit
the Madame Alexander Doll Factory. I had my childhood Madame Alexander Doll
-- Elise with me to take to the Doll Hospital. My poor doll had
been very neglected over the years. My daughter really wanted this
doll and I didn't want her to have her in the condition she was in, so we
planned to leave the doll in their capable hands.
Our tour was really wonderful. We got to see Madame
Alexander's office, which is now a design room, all the heads and hairstyles
over the years, as well as how they make and assemble all the clothes and
dolls. Greta who is pictured on the right was responsible for fixing
Elise and making her like new for my daughter.
My daughter and I spent about an hour in the showroom
looking at all the latest dolls and boy was she thrilled. She lined up
all the dolls that were her favorites, took pictures and posed. She
had several favorites but liked any doll that was a princess character the
best!
This tour is also available to the public and for birthday
parties! If you want more information you can contact them at
