Ages 8 and up

Ugly Doll Keychains (Pretty Ugly, LLC)  All ages, Price $6.00
Got a tween Ugly Doll collector in your house?  Well they will just love these!  They might be called "Ugly Dolls" but they are the biggest hit we've seen in a long time.  They are the pet rocks of this generation we think.  It seems like every tween is collecting them -- and they aren't just sleeping with them - they are taking them to school, taking them on car rides, to grandmas and using the cool clip on ones on their backpacks.  We were sent a bunch of the full size ones to our testers for  review and our testers snapped them up so fast you'd think they were gold!  I recently took my 8-year-old to a birthday party and all the girls were talking about which Ugly Dolls they have, which they were saving for and discussing their stories!  As a goodie bag gift they each got a Plush Ugly Doll on a keychain - what a great treat!  They are great gifts, affordable, fun and collectible!

Spin-Out (Think Fun) Ages 8+,  $8.00
Our testers report that they have played with this for hours!  This is a great mind bender where you have to spin, slide and twist the pieces.  The object is to line up the disks in order to release the slide from its holder.  It might look easy, but it's REALLY hard!  -- you'll be surprised how hard it is! It involves logical deduction, concentration and problem-solving skills.  When it's solved just reset and try again! For one player.

Gordian's Knot (Think Fun) Ages 8+,  $6.99
Thank goodness this has the solution!" reports our tester, "because it would have driven me crazy not to solve this!"  Our testers had a great time unraveling this book which they did with the help of the instructions after hours of attempting it on their own. What's more challenging than taking it apart?  Putting it back together of course!  This is a great gift that is fun for all!

TopShots: Black Hole (Kid Galaxy) Ages 8+, $5.00
According to our 10-year-old reviewer, "Black Hole is a fun but challenging game to play on a hard surface. The idea of the game is to get your orbits into the black hole. Each orbit is a certain number of points. The first one to 21 wins. This game is a luck game and a game of skill. This game would be better for ages 10 and up because younger kids would get frustrated. I give this game 4 stars!"

Crayola Twistable Slick Sticks  (Binney & Smith) ($4.49)  Crayola has done it again with some of the coolest coloring supplies and they're not just for school. Grandparents, you'll want to note that these are great as gifts all year long -- or even to keep in your own home.  To start with, you'll love the Twistable Slick Sticks as much as your grandkids.  If you like to color you'll love the way that these crayons twist up, and glide smooth as silk on paper.  They reminded the mother's of our testers of oil pastel

Another great product is Crayola's Erasable Markers ($5.49) again in vibrant primary colors these markers are truly erasable.  Our one tester used these to decorate her book covers - she drew outlines, filled in and then erased the outlines for a very seamless and clever picture.  What coloring box wouldn't be complete without Twistable Markers and Colored Pencils.  Both products twist up which keep the product protected and come in great colors, but what a treat -- never loose the caps!  The markers always stay moist and the pencils never break.  The colors again are great and the kids love them!

Flex-Neck LightWedge   (Great Point LightThis cool light is great for reading into the wee hours of the morning without disturbing anyone.  My daughter snatched this the minute she saw it so she could read in bed after we told her to turn out the lights.  I managed to get it back, because as a new mom I never get time to read - but now I can -- after everyone else has fallen asleep.  It's a great gift for all kids who love to read at only $8.99.

Gui / Mistletoe Cream Hand Soap (Fruits & Passion) $8.00
Boy do we love this soap.  First it's packaged beautifully.  It's a little green glistening ball filled with a creamy, deliciously scented soap.  Honestly it makes you want to wash all over with it - not just your hands.  This is a great gift for a college aged girl or for the grandchild that has just gotten their first apartment!  It's a real treat!

Mobile Phone Strap (Fashion Angels) $9.99 and up.
We just LOVE this bling for your phones!  All our testers, from college kids to moms and grandmas have all had a blast putting these little decorations on our bags.  What's even better?  You can easily find your phone!  One of our mom testers likes to dangle the little gems outside her pocket so her phone is easier to reach.  Other just like the fact that they have a little decoration on an otherwise relatively bland, but necessary object!  Got something to say? (pictured right) You can do that too!  This is a great little gift that's easy to mail, wrap or stuff!
