Cruising with Kids - Miami, FL
By Katrina Hayday Wester

Our day in Miami was day three of our cruise and we were lucky to spend it with my husbands father and step-mother.  Our kids enjoyed a day of fun in the sun with Grandpa Art and Grandma Sue.

Miami SunsetGrandpa Art and Grandpa Sue pick us all up at the Port and we spent at day at the Fontainebleau Hilton in Miami.  We chose this hotel to hang out for the day because of their famous "Cookie World" a water play land, that features a 260-foot twisting water slide, river raft ride around the pool and "Cookie," a 7,000 square foot octopus that showers and mists swimmers from its eight tentacles. We rented a cabanas that over-looking the water park and the Atlantic Ocean.

We had a fabulous day at the hotel. The highlight of course is the 260-foot water slide which grandma and grandpa has as much fun careening down as we did.  The only one who couldn't do it was Alex, but next year he'll be ready!  The tubes were fabulous as they skirt around the pool and you are constantly being drenched by the showers.

We had lunch in our cabana and enjoyed the day immensely.  It's a fabulous hotel, well designed for parents, kids and grandparents.  The cabana's are roomy and clean and perfect for changing in or napping in.  All in all an amazing day!
