Gel Gems

"I am totally addicted to Gel Gems.  I love how colorful and beautiful they are and how within minutes, you can totally transform the look of a room.  My son and I put up a bunch of fishy underwater ones in our bathroom, a bunch of flowers on our storm door in the winter (to make us think of Spring) and a beautiful tree with Fall flowers in Autumn.  They are so great that I want to keep them up all year. The Halloween ones are particularly fun because they glow in the dark.  You can create a simple holiday scene on your window in just a matter of minutes.  The kids all seem to love the bats and ghosts! My only regret is that my two year old likes them just as much as the rest of us and wants to peel them off the windows and eat them like candy so put them up as high as you can!  They just make me smile every time I look at them."  -- reviewed by Diana, mother of two.   Prices range from $5.00 to $25.00

Ice Bat (Ugly Dolls

Okay, they might be called "Ugly Dolls" but they are the biggest hit we've seen in a long time.  They are the pet rocks of this generation we think.  It seems like every tween is collecting them -- and they aren't just sleeping with them - they are taking them to school, taking them on car rides, to grandmas and using the cool clip on ones on their backpacks.  We were sent a bunch to review and our testers snapped them up so fast you'd think they were gold!  I recently took my 8-year-old to a birthday party and all the girls were talking about which Ugly Dolls they have, which they were saving for and discussing their stories!  They are great gifts and Ice Bat is perfect for a Halloween treat!  Who knows -- you might even want one for yourself!

Pirates of the Caribbean Isla Cruces Playset  $29.99
Fun for imaginative play for fans of Pirates of the Caribbean.  The kids enjoyed the wheel which dislodges and spins out like in the movie.  The figures are detailed and but are sold separately.  You'll want to note, that this is for kids ages 6 and up.  The pieces do fall off and younger kids might not be able to put them back by themselves.  Designed after the location of key scenes from the "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest" movie Includes trap door, collapsing ladder, swinging boom and pulley.  Figures are very detailed and start at $7.00   For ages 6 yrs. and up

Mega Bloks: Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - Captain Jack Sparrow
This cute little set which retails for $6.99 is a great little Halloween treat.  The Pirates of the Caribbean mini-set is great for imaginative play.  The set includes everything you need to build an island, including a 2" Captain Jack Sparrow figure, treasure chest, palm tree, instructions and more. Our tester, a 5-year-old pirate fanatic just had a blast playing with this.

Magical Do Re Mi, Witchling Dorie Goodwyn (Bandai America, Inc.) $9.99

This cute little doll was an instant hit with my 4-year-old. She comes with her very own pink witch broom! She started playing with it, and had her "zooming" (as she called it) all over the house. The doll is which is small is a bit difficult to change without assistance, but our tester was happy to leave her in the witch costume. This doll also comes with a DVD of an episode of the cartoon "Do Re Mi" -- after playing with the doll, she thoroughly enjoyed seeing the show.  A great little Halloween treat!
