I See the Moon

I see the moon (and) the moon sees me
The moon sees the somebody I'd like to see
God Bless the moon and God Bless me
And God Bless the somebody I'd like to see.

It seems to me that God above
Created you for me to love
He picked you out from all the rest
Because he knew I loved you best

I once had a heart as good as new
But now it's gone from me to you
Take care of it as I have done
For you have two and I have none

If I get to heaven and you're not there
I'll carve your name on a golden stair
A way up high for all to see
Just how much you mean to me

Note: This new version was submitted by J. Davis who said this "I have sung the song " I See The Moon" since I was 10 years old ( Now 59 ) about boyfriends, when my father passed away, to the children I babysat for when they would cry or not go to sleep, and of course, to my wonderful grandchildren.

The other night, at a dinner party, several of us started singing songs from our childhood. When I sang this one, everyone stopped and really listened to the lyrics. One friend just called me to ask me to record it for him so that he could share it with his nieces and nephews. Unfortunately, I do not have a singing voice. I looked up the phrase "I See The Moon" on Goggle and found your sight. What a great site you have, indeed. The partial lyrics came up to this song. Below are what I believe is the entire version."

If a song comes from a movie (such as "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz") or a stage musical (such as "A Bushel and a Peck" from "Guys and Dolls"), or if it was a popular record introduced in the 20th century (such as "Mairzy Doats" or "You are My Sunshine") it is almost certainly still under copyright.]
