The Narrows by Michael Connelly (Hachette Book Group USA)  If your a fan of mysteries then you'll really enjoy The Narrows which is very nicely read by Len Cariou.  This is the story of an FBI agent who is on the outs -- Rachel Walling and Harry Bosch, a former LAPD detective.  Rachel's former boss, Robert Backus, became "the Poet".  He was thought to be dead, but has apparently resurfaced and has summoned her to help track him down.  Bosch get's pulled into the case when a good friend of his suspiciously dies.  Bosch and Walling both suspect that his involvement in the Poet's investigation is what got him killed.  Both get caught up looking for the Poet in this fast paced, exciting novel which takes place in Sin City.  Michael Connelly tells a great story, which has us definitely wanting more!  It's definitely well worth listening too!

The Garden of Eden and Other Criminal Delights
by Faye Kellerman (Hachette Book Group USA)  This book, which is a compilation of short stories features some of her most popular characters, Peter Decker, and his wife, Rina Lazarus.  A few of the stories are co-written or inspired by her family and several are read by one of my favorite narrators Dennis Boutsikaris.  The stories vary, but some are very creepy, some funny, but most are just plain entertaining.  My favorites included, The Garden of Eden a story that details the mysterious death of a neighbor, missing money and a funny inheritance.  Open House tackles the "what if" when a body is found during an open house.  One that made me chuckle was the story Holy Water, when a Rabbi who is kidnapped during Purim.  Some very comic criminals are trying to get a soft drink secret for another soft drink giant.  The humor with the Rabbi, Purim and his religious requirements made the whole story made me chucke.  All in all, it was a delight to listen to.

The Camel Club (Time Warner AudioBooks) I recently listed to the unabridged version of The Camel Club by David Baldacci. This book takes readers inside the Beltway in Washington, DC as four unlikely misfits Oliver Stone, Caleb Shaw, Reuben Rhodes, and Milton Farb struggle not only to survive, but to save their president and their country from a plot that will lead to nuclear disaster. It took a while to get into the book because there were a lot of names and many subplots which all came together as the story unfolded. It was very entertaining and really held my attention all the way through to the end, there were some very exciting moments in the book which made me want to keep listening and I drove around just to keep listening. The only criticism of the story is that there was a little bit of political preaching. - Reviewed by Janet, Grandmother of 5.

Mary Mary (Time Warner AudioBooks) The James Patterson thriller once again features Alex Cross, the Washington DC detective turned FBI agent.  When an A-list actress, Antonia Schifman, is murdered, her face cut up Alex Cross is brought in to help.  He realizes that this isn't random that it's the work of a serial killer and soon emails come in from a Mary Smith claiming responsibility.  The story has some good twists and turns, a bit of romance, and a custody issue with his son Alex (Ali).   I've always liked narration of Peter J. Fernandez.  The book is an entertaining thriller and fans of James Patterson will enjoy it.

Kiss the Girls  (Time Warner AudioBooks) This is another Alex Cross book, by James Patterson.  The book which came out several years ago and was made into a major motion picture is finally out on an audio CD.  Read wonderfully by Chris Noth and Robert Guillaume it tells the story of Casanova and The Gentleman Caller - two serial killers working coast to coast.  When Cross's niece becomes the latest victim, he uses his training as a psychologist and detective to catch the killers.  A great story and great listen!

Light on Snow (Time Warner AudioBooks) $39.98 Anita Shreve, the best selling author of "The Pilots Wife" writes a beautiful story about twelve-year-old Nicky Dillon and the discovery she and her father make in the snow.  On a cold winter's day Nicky and her father find an abandoned baby.  As the story progresses you meet the babies mother, Nicky deals with her own personal tragedies and grows.  It's a beautiful story, read by Alyson Silverman.

The Tipping Point : How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference (Time Warner AudioBooks) $24.95 Written by Malcom Gladwell this New Yorker writer looks at why major changes in our society so often happen suddenly and unexpectedly. Our reviewer found it fascinating how the social response to a product creates the "tipping point" that creates a corporate success.  In particular the case of Hush Puppies was amazing, how inner city kids changed a company almost demise into a huge revival.  The analysis off fashion trends, smoking and children's television were particularly interesting.  A great book to listen to and be inspired by.

The Notebook (Time Warner AudioBooks) $31.90 Written by Nicholas Sparks and narrated by Barry Bostwick it's a beautiful story of love and devotion.   The story takes you through the lives of Noah and Allie starting almost at the end with Noah reading the "Notebook" to Allie at her bedside. I don't want to spoil this beautiful story by telling you too much.  I will say that I cried through the last two CD's and I was on a long drive with my kids so it was a bit embarrassing!  They were watching a movie and I was bawling!   It's a timeless story that is sure to become a classic.

Good Grief : A Novel (Time Warner AudioBooks) $23.98  My initial impression about this book was that it was depressing, but it was far from that.  In fact the more I listened the more I was drawn in to the story, the characters and their lives.  Sophie a widow at age 36 discovers that there are more than just five stages to grief.  During her first year as a widow she reinvents herself and helps to reinvent the life of a thirteen-year-old she becomes a big sister to.  Sophie takes you from Oreos to savory cheesecake with laughs and tears.  It's a beautifully read and wonderful to listen to and it's far from depressing.

The Da Vinci Code (Random House Audio) $44.95  According to our reviewer, the Da Vinci Code is a thoroughly captivating novel.  The author, Dan Brown, creates a suspenseful piece complete with mystery, religion, history and excitement.  As this novel unfolds through the streets of France and across international borders, the tale never becomes predictable or monotonous.  There are many twists which will leave the listener craving more hints used to solve the complicated yet simple code.

The plot, based on the search for the elusive Holy Grail is a theme that becomes more complex as the race intensifies.  The storyline woven by Dan Brown is amazing and will keep the listener so involved they won't even realize that time has elapsed.  The narration could have done without the foreign accents which, in my opinion, didn't work.  Overall the story was as gripping as it was entertaining and loved having it on CD.  - Reviewed by Javier

Every Second Counts (Random House Audio) $27.50  Lance Armstrong is the second rider ever to win five consecutive Tours and the fifth rider to win five Tours all together.   He's one of the best athletes in the world, a cancer survivor, and philanthropist This is his second book after It's Not About the Bike.  My husband really liked this audio book on a personal level because we know many of the riders he has raced with and his mentioning of them in the book made for additional enjoyment.  The book discusses what drives him, his passions and his cancer survival and it's great inspirational listening.

Burma Road: The Epic Story of the China-Burma-India Theater in World War II  (Harper Audio) $29.95 This story inspired the movie "Bridge over the River Kwai." This book details the impossible task of building a 700 mile route from Kunming, China to Lashio, Burma.  If you're a  history fan you will thoroughly enjoy this book.  It does Vinegar Joe justice depicting the intolerable conditions of war, weather, and horrendous circumstances. Written and read by Donovan Webster it great from beginning to end.
