The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt (Abridged) - James
Patterson, $37.95)
This book offered up many unknown facts or trivia, on the subject of said
legislator and ruff rider. Many men cannot live the lifestyle of such
rigorous activities, from campaigning, to writing a few of the best naval
texts, to fighting off the evils of the new conquistadors in the jungles
of the tropics. Many of the interesting and thought provoking facts are
spread out very clearly. American historical biographies are often a
little slow or a little gory. This book informs and incites thought and
wonder to the strength of mind and body in turn of the century America.
Readers will come away more informed and entertained then they might
think. - (Reviewed by Grandparents Magazine™

1st

If you
are a James Patterson fan this shouldn't disappoint. The first in a
new series featuring "The Women's Murder Club." Four San

reporter team up to catch a serial killer who's stalking and murdering
newlyweds. Lindsay Boxer is the protagonist, a homicide inspector,

book is engaging and well read by Suzanne Toren. 1st to Die will
keep you in your car long after you've stopped driving. Click here to listen to an excerpt.
Standing
in the Rainbow(Abridged) - Fannie Flagg, $29.95 )
I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book.
This is a wonderfully read story, as told by the author, Fannie Flagg.
Standing in the Rainbow is about a radio show host from the small
southern town of Elmwood Springs, Missouri, and the many people that cross
her life. It is a story which spans many decades starting in the 1940's
It is a very entertaining and beautifully written story with a great deal
of humor. If you liked Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
this will not disappoint. I would highly recommend it, I think it
will appeal to a wide range of readers. - (Reviewed by Janet H.

The
Summons (Unabridged) - John Grisham, $39.95)
If you read the Amazon reviews you probably won't consider getting this
book, but I have to say I enjoyed it. It's not as good as his
earlier books like The
Firm, The
Brethren, and The
Testament, but it was enjoyable to listen to and kept
figuring out where I could drive to so I could finish it. The
story is about Ray Atlee, a law professor, and his
troubled brother, Forrest. Both are summoned home to Clanton,
Mississippi, by their ailing father to discuss his will. When Ray
arrives his father is dead, he discovers a will which seems
straightforward, but then stumbles upon $3 million and the fun begins.
If you are fan of John Grisham, like I am, you'll probably enjoy this book
too. Click
