The Magic Tree House Collection #1  (Listening Library) by Mary Pope Osborne. This great collection which includes Dinosaurs Before Dark, Knight at Dawn, Mummies in the Morning, Pirates Past Noon had my kids mesmerized.  Our latest habit is to listen to audio books at all times.  We listen to the to and from school, the grocery store, grandma's house -- everywhere. We were thrilled when we received this one because it was our first introduction to the Magic Tree House stories.  Read by the author, the stories involve the travels of a brother and sister, Jack and Annie from Frog Creek, PA.  In each story they are required to find a magical clue and bring it back to Morgan LeFay - their guide.  The second series of audio books Magic Tree House CD Collection Books 9-16 includes Dolphins at Daybreak, Day of the Dragon, and Hour of the Olympics.  In each trip Jack and Annie, now Master Librarians are sent to recover important lost stories.  In Hour of the Olympics they meet Plato and see the Olympics as they were.  These books tell wonderful stories from all parts of history, never have too much danger and are always enjoyed.  Once we finish listening to them we pass them around to the other kids in school so they can enjoy them too.  All reviews are the same - these books are great!  Click here to see all the Magic Tree House books.

Junie B. Jones CD Edition: Books 1-8 (Listening Library) by Barbara Park.  Another perennial favorite in our house is Junie B. Jones.  I think we've listened to every book on CD or cassette available and now we just have to wait for more!   Junie B. Jones starts out as a loveable Kindergartener.  She's a little feisty, but we think that's okay. The stories involve situations that kids can relate to most of the time.  There's the Stupid Smelly Bus, where Junie is too afraid to get on the bus - so she doesn't.  In Sneaky Peaky Spying she spies on her teacher Mrs. and sees more than she should.  Click here to see all the Junie B. Jones books.

Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass Audio (Harper Audio) by Lewis Carroll.  My daughter is a fan of Alice in Wonderland having watched the Disney version and read the book. This audio book, read well by Christopher Plummer was enjoyed by both the adults and kids in the car.  Mr. Plummer brings this classic story to life. Audio Excerpt

The Winnie-the-Pooh (Harper Audio) by A. A. Milne.  This classic story is brought to life by Jim Broadbent one of my favorite actors. I enjoyed listening to this story as Pooh joined Christopher Robin on an "Exposition" to the North Pole as well as other adventures.  A classic delight.
